SDF praise volunteers for their commitment for International Volunteer Day

Scottish drugs Forum could not carry out some of the important work that we do if it were not for our dedicated Peer Research volunteers.

It has been an eventful year for the volunteers and the SDF team, with research and surveys carried out throughout East Dunbartonshire, Tayside, East Ayrshire and Fife.

As a thank you to our volunteers for their hard work and contributions, we held a special celebration in Glasgow to mark International Volunteer Day, where the volunteers received a certificate of gratitude and a small gesture of appreciation, before going for lunch together.

Rebekah Moore, SDF’s National Volunteer Coordinator, said:

“The amount of effort and enthusiasm shown by every one of the SDF Peer Research volunteers in the past year has been a genuine pleasure to witness.

“SDF’s Peer Research programme provides training, support and work experience for people who have experienced problems with substance use. The contributions of our volunteers are invaluable to the work SDF carries out with vulnerable groups across Scotland.”

SDF is hosting a volunteer information session on the 13th of December for potential volunteers in East Dunbartonshire, click here for details.
