Where to get support this Winter if you are experiencing homelessness

During the holiday season we must not forget the plight of thousands of people across Scotland who are experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.

We have created a list of places for those who require support, shelter or somewhere simply to spend Christmas Day in the company of others.

Shelter Scotland has said that 28,000 Scottish households were assessed as homeless last year and an estimated 5,000 people sleep rough on Scotland’s streets at some point in the year.

Rough sleeping can be dangerous any time of the year, but this winter is forecast to be extremely cold. If you or someone you know finds themselves homeless this Winter, there are night shelters across Scotland where you can find a bed and some food for the night.

The below list is by no means exhaustive, and if there are any other winter night shelters, Christmas meals or support for people sleeping rough that you are aware of that are not listed, please get in touch with us at enquiries@sdf.org.uk and we will update this list when possible.
