Risk assessment report published on commonly used synthetic cannabinoid MDMB-CHMICA

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) have published a risk assessment report presenting the summary findings and conclusion of the risk assessment carried out on the new psychoactive substance MDMB-CHMICA, the substance commonly used in synthetic cannabinoids such as ‘Black Mamba’.

The report is intended for policy-makers and decision makers in the institutions of the European Union and comes after the decision taken by the EMCDDA to place MDMB-CHMICA under control across the EU on the 27th of February 2017.

The report presents a summary of the information considered during the detailed analysis of the substance, using scientific and law enforcement data available at the time. The conclusion section of the report summarises the main issues addressed and reflects the opinions held by the members of the Scientific Committee.
